Holiday's are for dogs....

I hear that from a good source that this is holiday season. Something about a red-nosed rain dog. Well, I don't believe in that, because there is no dog who loves rain. But be that as it may, I'll be open minded. After all - I'm supposed to receive lots of gifts!

Just a few weeks ago, Dad and I got together with one of his old buddies for dinner. It was quite nice. I got lots of attention from everyone although I think Abby was scared that I would knock her over.

You have to look close to see me, I'm sitting in front of Leah. We were at her apartment. She's a super swell gal - even after I knocked over a beer and urinated on her floor, she still gave me big smooches.

And as I stated in my last blog, I spent some quality time with my brother PJ and Puppy atAunt Kim and Uncle James' home.

See, the big thing this time, Puppy and I didn't fight. I think he knows I can take him now, but I respect my elders. Shadow is well versed in the ways of Bushido.

Now, Aunt Kim, she spoiled me. Dad doesn't let me get on the furniture and Aunt Kim, not only let me get up, she let me sleep on her! Don't tell Dad, he might get mad at Kim.

Oh... and you know what, we had a surprise party for Kim's birthday. Unfortunately, I didn't get her a gift, but she seemed really happy to see me and some of the other folks who stopped in.

There are some pictures, but the Chippendale dancers won't let me publish them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK. This past weekend was bad. Dad had lots to clean up. Saturday, I messed up the bed Aunt Kim gave me. It was pretty stinky. And yesterday, I got hog wild in poop. Dad was just out of control and all kinds of mad. He was saying, the glue factory might be getting some contributions. Not sure what that means.

Anyway, I made a mess of things....

Dad had to clean for a very long time... all over the house. It was messy and stinky. Then he gave me a bath since I was rather yucky as well.

Thank the Beagle in the sky, no more messes for me. Dad says three strikes and I'm out.

Well, today was a nice day. I got to play in the white stuff falling from the sky. Didn't get me wet.. so it wasn't too bad.

The down side of this is that I suspect my night camo is now negated. I will have to adapt.

The weekend of fun

So some of you know that Dad and I go to some fun big dog events. Well, I'm still one of the smaller dogs, but I have heart!

We all lined up for some loving! That is Kristen (the organizer) give belly rubs.

I'm telling the new guy that all the bitches at this park are mine.

That didn't go over very well.......

The funny thing is that Maui didn't care who he humped! And he really had a thing for this poor guy.

Check out Ra - he's 140lbs and 9 months - just a little older than me. I better start pumping iron if I want to catch up.

So at the Mastiff get together......

Dad tells me I have to logout now... something about him leaving me. So I'm all packed up and going with Aunt Kim.

Its my turn to take the watch

There isn't a Marine (US or Royal) who stands post at attention better than me.

Under my watch, nothing shall go unchallenged.

Halt. Who goes there?

Advance slowly and be recognized.

Welcome to guard post 8, Shadow warriors own the night.

I stand relieved... I'm going to get rec time in.

The sun is so bright, I can't see the ball.

I know the ball is here somewhere...

Private. Find the ball and take it back to the USO rec shop. I'm going to rack out.

This ground is awful hard. Good thing, us special-ops guys get the best of everything...

I'm acorn dog?!?

Not sure why Dad keeps calling me that. I saw a corn dog on Good Eats and I don't look anything like it. Dad started calling me that after I started picking up these little nuggets on the ground.

So, earlier today, I went to the dog park to meet all my buddies. I was really hoping to meet the new Harl pup. But, he didn't come. Hopefully, next time!

Breaking News...

Aunt Kim got me a broom, I hope she wasn't saying I'm dirtying up the house. I try hard to keep my toys in the house. Sometimes I track in dirt and I sneak in chunks of wood and chew it up.

After settling in on the prize...

Wet Kisses to Kim!

Trifecta

Dad says its a trifecta when you have three good things together... so this weekend was a trifecta. A fun saturday, a great sunday, and a tiring but exciting Monday!

We went on this mountain hike with John. It was really easy for the first half. More like a big joke. Why does anyone think hiking is hard. It was literally all downhill.

Our first stop for a drink and a photo.

I don't think I've told you, but I'm kinda afraid of heights... so when we were up pretty high, I was clinging to the rock with a white knuckled grip (tough to see since my paws are really gray and white). There wasn't too much water flowing, but some colors in the trees.

Really not much water, I guess the drought isn't helping. Although, I think I may have contributed to the flow....

Resting up after almost 3 miles and 1000 feet.. (that's well over 8000 paw marks each way)

I was really hungry... I was willing to try a leaf.

Well, Dad packed me a lunch and this is where I ate - Purina on the rocks, just the way I like it.

Well, the 8000 paw marks on the way back up... those were painful. I had just enough energy to make it back to the truck. Dedicated to my family and friends, I am, so I have published my journal and now make my way to the supercrate.

Houdini's cousin...

So Dad got me this big kennel, but it looks more like a prison cell. So the first thing I did was pull a Houdini.... if you look closely, you can see me vanish...

SoDad did put together my new crate... its like big enough for three of me, maybe four. I feel like I moved to Beverly Hills, except there is no silicon in my neighborhood.

We just got back from the Mastiff get together. It was pretty fun. I splashed around in the water and there were lots of super-sized dogs - Mastiffs and Danes.

Of course, I was quick to find Lourdes.

And where there is a Lourdes, there is a Larry! Notice, I'm getting some loving from a complete stranger. That is how the Shad rolls.

When I say goliath - I mean goliath... Check out my new buddy. I've hired him as my body guard.

Shouts out to Amy - the Mastiff organizer. She's a swell person. She was feeding the group bananas. If you're interested... Mastiff Group
