Shadows everywhere

I'm out of practice in using this mouse thing. Clearly, it was not ergonomically designed for a paw as big as mine.

Well, in January, me and Rocco did a cage match. And of course, yours truly won. Judge for yourself.

So almost a month ago, we had a small bit of snow. It was just after I complained about missing winter.

As you can see, Dad got the cheap snow machine which didn't put out much. Just enough to snack on some snow.

Well, today, we had a lot of snow. And I got to do two things I love - eat snow and make snow cones. Lemony flavor :)

The one truly good thing about a snow day, Dad stays home. He works too hard sometimes and snow days are good for that.

Winter Wonderland?

Did I miss winter? No snow this year. I'm pretty sure Dad didn't let me sleep through it.

I did get to see some long lost friends and meet some new folks. Love those rib bones!

Got to see some buffalo. Unfortunately, Dad wouldn't let me chase them. They were gonna be great playpals.

But, it has been cold recently and Dad got me a matching red coat. Now, he says were color coordinated. Personally, I think dad should have gotten a blue coat and we'd have been fine.

Dad's rather slow in his old age. I'm always having to make sure he's keeping up. Slow poke!

Home is where the Egrets roam!

I took a really long drive this past week, at least twice as far as Uncle James' castle. Did you know that there is something further south than their place? I thought it was the southern most tip of the earth. I guess Magellan was wrong again.

Well, I finally got to meet Grandpa and Grandma.... Wasn't quite the homecoming party I had expected - no parade, ticker-tape, or key to the city, but the weather was really nice.

I did have run of the dock and the back yard.

Grandma fishing and me chewing on a clam. someone told me they were supposed to be juicy and delicious, but this one was really, really HARD!

Grandpa thought about petting me....

I was careful to lead grandma around the hazzards on the road.

My portrait...

I swear I saw something move down there....

There it goes again!

Me playing in the back yard with my ball. I had a great time.

Dad says we'll go back in the spring or summer. Looking forward to another escape from the cold!

Oh, I did nearly kill Dad, hope he doesn't have any scars. He was really bleeding from his head and his glasses broke when he dove into the ground.

Muchos Gracias

To my uncle and aunt for allowing me to hang with my brothers PJ and Puppy. I had a wonderful time as always. Although, for some reason, I didn't get my own room. It was triple occupancy!

Anyway, my neighbor is getting a Swiss Mountain pup tomorrow :) It's gonna be great! I can't wait.

That's it for now!

Weekends

Last weekend was a long weekend... seemed pretty boring. I guess we went to the big river park, but there weren't many people around. I only got hugs from two people. I wonder where they all were?

I wonder what the big stick is over yonder. Maybe Dad will walk us over there, of course, it does seem like it's pretty far away.

Is it time to go yet?

Yesterday, it rained ALL day! I told Dad to start building the Ark, but he said he already had an unsinkable boat. I just rolled my eyes and put on my life jacket.

So today, it was glorious. Beautiful weather for the Danish Olympiad.

Unfortunately, yours truly came in 4th in the 100m sprint. No dog track field medal for the Shad today.

But in the Danish-Roman wrestling, Shad came out with a Silver!

Stay tuned to the Danish Broadcasting Service (DBS.tv) for continuing covering of the 2008 Danish Olympiad. Upcoming event Shad will be competing include - 100m doggy paddle, the triathalon, and Paw-dle ball.

Back and Better than Ever!

The Shad has returned to the primordial soup from which I arose. Those who have been awaiting the tails of my adventures, have but to read the scroll below.

The Shad rides Dane style to Reston's park. Dad says "shotgun", if he doesn't smarten up, I'm gonna shoot him.

I went to the dog park to hoist some brews with the boys. Let me tell you, there were quite a few new members in the Canine Intelligence Agency - some new recruits and some older farts.

Hanging with the boys is like good old times.

But when one of the new guys tries to roll up on me, I had to put him down! I would have pulled a wolverine, but Dad removed my adamantium claws last weekend - something about Uncle James saying I had bear claws.

Best part of today, I met my new girlfriend - Dakota. I know some of you think she's a bit young at 5 months, but it the beginning of our relationship. Fancy, she's a classy bitch, but she's just all stuck up and never comes out. Dakota is Apollo's sister and Amy and Bryan's daughter.

Oh, for those of you who are keeping track, Dr G got a new pup - but not a Dane. I hope she adds a Dane back to her family. But she still gave me lots of hugs. And I weighted in at 122lbs.

In the dog house!

What happens when you mix freedom and free time? Trouble!

Every once in a while, Dad get the great notion of letting me loose. Sometimes, I get carried away.

Well, I had the run of the house last friday (at least most of the downstairs).

It took Dad quite a long time to clean up. He was pretty upset, saying I could have died from the detergent, fabric softener light bulbs, and insect spray!

I'm sure that it was nonsense. Dad is just very often open to exaggeration.

I've got to go, Dad says I'm on limited web surfing until I grow up!
