"The Fish" has officially died, Life without Dad (aka Party at the Brewers), and my 1st B-day

As some of you may recall, a few months ago, Jim, my fish monger, gave me the big green monster. Well... the fish died a horrible death a few weeks ago.

I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to eat it. All the other chewies are ok to eat (at least, I think so).

So, I took at two week vacation at the Puppy and PJ's Palace. Was really fitting my style and us Dane's we know how to roll. Aunt Kim was there to answer our beck and call. That's a womans place, at least that is what Uncle James says. I hope I can do another jammin party again, nothing like 7x24 belly rubs! And since we're at PJ's Sinville, what happens in Sinville, stays in Sinville - so no pictures!

But Aunt Kim did take me to see dad for my birthday! I turned one last week. If Dad is right, I'm old enough to drink and drive (not together of course). My bro PJ showed up for the afternoon as well. We didn't get to stay long, since they're paving the really long driveway to Aunt Kim's place.

It's time to go back to Sinville...but I missed Dad already!

And Dad didn't give me my Birthday present yet! He says it needs to be a nice day.... WHATEVER!

The toilet runneth over!

So every so often the great dane in the sky clogs the toilet and there is an overflow... Well, the creek was closed off because of this at my party this weekend. But instead of splashing in the water, I rolled in the dirt. Dad wasn't appreciative, but it was fun!

A few people from Dad's work showed up...

Tara and Daisy showed up .. but Daisy was pretty feisty so we didn't hang out..

And Brenda brought her Saint B. I've never seen such a big tail!

VA Tech... known for engineers and dog handlers!

Check out my new friends, Denali (little) and Kebo(big)!

2007 Flashback and let the good times roll

So Dad finally got some pictures from Xmas. Just like in the movies... it takes a lot of effort to get the final take....

Uncle James was the director... gave me some guidance on where to sit..

And Aunt Kim, she was from our talent agency and had to stroke our egos...

So.... after a few outtakes, we got that final shot. Whew... who knew being a super-star was so hard.

The GOOD TIMES

So this past weekend, we had our monthly BDG (big dogz gathering - sometimes referred to the Blue Dane Gathering). I got to meet my twin - Apollo. Actually, I'm Apollo's older brother. I've got skilz with the ladies as you'll see and I was trying to set a good example for Apollo.

Below, Bryan is trying to decide if he should answer Amy (Apollo's mom's call)....

You can see Apollo and a friend being chased by yours truly... We're truly the Blues Brothers :)

So, the BDG became the truly awesome when Susan came.... Susan is Fancy's mom (in the green coat). I was instantly enamored with Fancy.

I'm still a pup, but I've some moves... I asked her out to dance

And we danced to the symphony of love.

Susan was obviously watching my courtship behavior. I hope I made a good impression, because I'd like to ask Fancy out on another date :)

Counting the days until my next date....

My poor DR G

I got my 9 month checkup and guess what - I weigh 109lbs. Not a pint sized pup any more.

Dr G was wonderful as always. But her Blue passed late last year suddenly. I never got to meet him. I could tell she missed him. Dad was telling her about my breeder and that she needed to get another one. It was one of the longest belly rubbin sessions ever :)

Maybe Dad will let me go visit her because she let her dane get up on the bed!

Welcome 2008, the year of the Shadow!

I spent Xmas with Puppy and PJ. I had a great time and was such a better house guest than during Thanksgiving. Dad needs to find some pics for me to put up.

Anyway, it has been forever since I've gotten to go to the dog park for a big dog get-together. Its been raining every time. But we did today. Super fun.

And I'm not the smallest Dane anymore. Yippeeeeee.

Apollo is my new pup-playmate. He was a wee bit scared of me. Kept running away, but there is no escape from the Shadow.

Hopefully, we get to cross paths a whole bunch more! His parents are super cool. I got lots of attention.

And I finally got to meet a Weim. She doesn't look anything like the Shad. Not sure how everyone could get confused!

I'm all kind of dark and handsome and she's more like the a coffee color. And she was totally not into playing.

I didn't create all that splash mess... honest! It was the Mastiff!

Holiday's are for dogs....

I hear that from a good source that this is holiday season. Something about a red-nosed rain dog. Well, I don't believe in that, because there is no dog who loves rain. But be that as it may, I'll be open minded. After all - I'm supposed to receive lots of gifts!

Just a few weeks ago, Dad and I got together with one of his old buddies for dinner. It was quite nice. I got lots of attention from everyone although I think Abby was scared that I would knock her over.

You have to look close to see me, I'm sitting in front of Leah. We were at her apartment. She's a super swell gal - even after I knocked over a beer and urinated on her floor, she still gave me big smooches.

And as I stated in my last blog, I spent some quality time with my brother PJ and Puppy atAunt Kim and Uncle James' home.

See, the big thing this time, Puppy and I didn't fight. I think he knows I can take him now, but I respect my elders. Shadow is well versed in the ways of Bushido.

Now, Aunt Kim, she spoiled me. Dad doesn't let me get on the furniture and Aunt Kim, not only let me get up, she let me sleep on her! Don't tell Dad, he might get mad at Kim.

Oh... and you know what, we had a surprise party for Kim's birthday. Unfortunately, I didn't get her a gift, but she seemed really happy to see me and some of the other folks who stopped in.

There are some pictures, but the Chippendale dancers won't let me publish them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK. This past weekend was bad. Dad had lots to clean up. Saturday, I messed up the bed Aunt Kim gave me. It was pretty stinky. And yesterday, I got hog wild in poop. Dad was just out of control and all kinds of mad. He was saying, the glue factory might be getting some contributions. Not sure what that means.

Anyway, I made a mess of things....

Dad had to clean for a very long time... all over the house. It was messy and stinky. Then he gave me a bath since I was rather yucky as well.

Thank the Beagle in the sky, no more messes for me. Dad says three strikes and I'm out.

Well, today was a nice day. I got to play in the white stuff falling from the sky. Didn't get me wet.. so it wasn't too bad.

The down side of this is that I suspect my night camo is now negated. I will have to adapt.

The weekend of fun

So some of you know that Dad and I go to some fun big dog events. Well, I'm still one of the smaller dogs, but I have heart!

We all lined up for some loving! That is Kristen (the organizer) give belly rubs.

I'm telling the new guy that all the bitches at this park are mine.

That didn't go over very well.......

The funny thing is that Maui didn't care who he humped! And he really had a thing for this poor guy.

Check out Ra - he's 140lbs and 9 months - just a little older than me. I better start pumping iron if I want to catch up.

So at the Mastiff get together......

Dad tells me I have to logout now... something about him leaving me. So I'm all packed up and going with Aunt Kim.
